Craftsman to Rambler....North Park to Ocean Beach

It's been a few months since I posted on my blog and I recently received an email from a close friend of mine asking what was going on and was wondering what I've been up to.  It's been a busy first half of the year for me/us and as I mentioned before if I don't force myself to sit down and put something on "digital paper" I find myself wondering where time has went.
I went back to Oklahoma City for training in February and we took a trip to D.C. for a long week at the end of March to try and catch the Cherry Blossoms.  Sorry to say we missed the Cherry Blossoms by a few weeks but we tried.  The weather was terrible during our trip but it did allow us to check out most of the museums and it was great to catch up with a few friends.  We stayed with Scott and Rohan most of the time.  Nelly came down from Philly and we caught up with her and we capped off our trip with Travis and Simone.  Was some crazy timing for our trip as far as the weather goes but we made the most of it.
Eva went back to Hungary the last couple weeks of April and has been busy since returning.  I put in for a promotion at work and things are looking like they are going to go in that direction starting in July but who knows.  The big news is that we bought another house (2 unit property actually) in Ocean Beach or as the locals call it "O.B.".  I have been watching real estate for over a year and while I was not really expecting to buy anything if the right deal were to come along we would consider making an offer.  Eva and I talked about it and after careful consideration we decided to make and offer and things worked out!
For those of you that have made the trip to see us in San Diego we kept our little craftsman in North Park.  Property values are through the roof but we holding for now and don't have any plans on selling it.  North Park has been rated one of the hippest neighborhoods in America along with Silverlake in L.A. and the Mission in S.F.  North Park has evolved so much and I have to give all of the credit to our realtor at the time and now good friend Rob who said it was on the way up.  Damn was he right!  We put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into that place and we love everything about it but we wanted to live closer to the beach.  Even though we lived in San Diego and North Park is only 15 mins from the beach we didn't go as often as we would like.
Anyway, after over a months worth of work and negotiations we bought our new place in Ocean Beach and have been enjoying the new place since May 1.  We rented out our North Park home long term and Eva kept her studio in place adjacent to our North Park home and commutes back and forth four days a week.  We went from a craftsman to a rambler and so far we have been pretty happy with our decision.  I get to see the ocean every day and there is something about seeing it that puts a smile on my face.  While the house may be a little smaller (it's still a 3bd 2ba) we now have a garage for our bikes and beach toys.  We have a spare room for guests and a nice back patio with a wood fire pit for making S'mores. We are 5 blocks from the beach and have beach cruisers that make the journey no problem!  OB is definitely SoCal beach living in every aspect...the skate boarders, surfers, dogs, and laid back lifestyle are a reminder of the SoCal way of life.
So please make a note and update our address...we are no longer on Dale Street. Our new address is 4672 Long Branch Ave. San Diego CA 92107
Take care and we are sending everyone the best always!
