Welcome....

Hello and welcome to my Blog...I have been fortunate enough to travel to many places and meet some great people  along the way.  After returning home people always ask "How was your trip?" "What did you do?"  This blog is my attempt to outline travel experiences and tidbits that happen along the way.  I wrote in a travel journal for many years after returning home from each trip when I lived in Europe.  I realized later that book is sitting on a shelf in my office that will never be read.  I feel as though each and everyone of us has a story to tell and the older we get the harder it is to remember what happened along the way.  The idea of that journal is great but as technology advances and humans evolve I needed to change the way I communicate.  I get paid to talk and communicate and I see everyday how the game of "telephone" works when you start a conversation and how by the time information is relayed through three or four people it changes.  This blog post is my attempt to keep everyone up to date on a first hand account of what is going on and just how life is going.

I love to write and in the past year I discovered Trip Advisor. http://www.tripadvisor.com/members-reviews/617JW I have started putting together in-depth reviews on trip advisor about some of my/our (Eva my wife and I) experiences.  Life is to short to keep everything a secret and I like to share so if you have a question please don't hesitate to ask.  As I have gotten older I realized that when something is bad you need to speak up and when things you also need to speak up.  The octopus I had for dinner last night was amazing but honestly it was a small portion.  The server says "our kitchen is bleeding money" Well you asked my opinion so I told you.  It's not my fault you have a great chef with a bad manager.  Anyway, I will post links to trip advisor instead of writing two reviews or re posting for the sake of duplicating work.  However, I will write about the experience itself and just how we our adventure was getting to where ever we are going.  In years past I would put together an annual holiday letter and send it out with Christmas cards. Now as I try to come to terms with the information age hopefully you will be able to log in and read what we have been up to on a real time basis instead of waiting for 11 months to find out.

I love to write and who knows maybe one day when I am able to stop working and start living I will be able to do what I love and travel and write and live life to the fullest.  I mean really what's the point of working if we can't enjoy it at some point, right?  I have to say I love my job and find it to be one of the most rewarding jobs in the world!  With that being said I always tell people at work "this is just an 8 hour interruption to my day." I am serious about that and I try to live life for whatever it brings each and every day.  A very close friend told me recently that I truly live everyday to the fullest, each day like it could be my last.  Whether I am having a drink with friends, going to the gym or just being naturally high on life when I go to bed at night I like to think I was able to squeeze every minute out of everyday.  Some people look at me like I am crazy when I am out sometimes but I tend to go all out or not go at all.  Don't get me wrong I can be reserved but I try to make the most of life.  It's short and we only get one shot at it...there are no "do-overs"  Eva's father was taken from this world when he should have been getting ready to slow down.  One of my best friends lost his brother in his 20's.  We never know what life will bring but we can't stress over the things we can't change.

Hope you enjoy this blog and following along with our adventures.  I am not sure how often I will write and please forgive my grammar and slang.  I am just a country boy living the American dream...enjoy!
